The weather of the last few weeks has not been easy for farmers, gardeners or friends of sun and warmth. The blogger was also annoyed and wondered whether he should have trout in his garden instead of lettuce, as the latter are less likely to be eaten by snails.
But as annoying as the often cloudy, wet and not very warm weather is, it cannot be used as an argument to deny global warming.
The first mistake would be in the time scale. Weather and climate are not the same thing. If we compare the atmosphere to a person, then the weather is the momentary mood and the climate is the long-term character.
Global warming does not mean permanently warm weather
The weather is constantly up and down. Global warming is a creeping trend behind this. In a warming climate, there will still be days that are “too warm” and “too cold”, but of course there will be more days that are too warm than too cold. The past twelve months are an example of this:
The same trend as in the graph above. The gray stripe is new. This represents the range from the ! past. If a red or blue colored day extends beyond the gray band, then a new record was reached for that day in ! the period June 13, 2023 to June 10, 2024.

April 2024 will be remembered by many for the iran mobile database striking cold wave in the second half of the month (blue ellipse). While this remained within the range, the warm period before it (orange ellipse) set new records. The other months also saw several warm periods that were outside the range. This was not the case with the cold waves, however.
12 months is still too short to discuss climate change, but the message remains the same, even if you look at the last few decades.
We are not the world
Even if it is too cold around us, this does not mean that this applies to the whole world. Other regions experience heat waves while summer is still a long way off here.

Large regions of Europe will be cooler than average this week. Other regions will have the same fate, such as large parts of Canada. However, this image shows that the red colour still dominates. So, shared hosting: the limits globally, it will be warmer than average, even if it is significantly too cold in certain regions.
Switzerland is not Italy
To put it bluntly, we tend to forget where we live. agent email list Switzerland is not on the Mediterranean. We are in the westerly wind zone, where changeable weather is more common than weeks of sunshine. Even the blogger is not immune to misjudgments. This morning, when he started his shift, he was pretty sure that June had been a little too cool so far. But that is not the case; the first half of June is pretty much average in terms of temperature.
This may seem surprising, but a look at the
standard values
but creates clarity.
An average June day in the Swiss Plateau has a minimum temperature of around 11 degrees and a maximum temperature of around 23 degrees. (Norm 1991-2020). A summer day, as most people imagine.
